Excellence in Every Tonne

At INOVANOS, our product represents far more than a simple commodity; it reflects a meticulous, technology-driven process built on precision, quality, and responsibility. We specialise in producing high-grade chrome concentrate tailored to the exact specifications of global clients in the ferrochrome, chemical, and foundry industries.

Our Primary Product

High-Grade Chrome Concentrate

We produce premium chrome concentrate sourced from the rich chromitite seams of South Africa’s Bushveld Complex. Markets value our product for its consistent quality, strong Chromium-to-Iron (Cr:Fe) ratio, and extremely low impurity levels. These characteristics make it ideal for high-performance industrial applications.

Product Applications

Ferrochrome Production

Most of our chrome concentrate feeds ferrochrome smelters, where it forms the primary alloying material used to create stainless steel and speciality steels. Its properties improve corrosion resistance, strength, and durability.

Chemical Industry

Our high melting point and excellent thermal stability make chromite a reliable material for foundry sands and refractory bricks used to line high-temperature furnaces.

Foundry and Refractory Industries

The unique properties of chromite, including its high melting point and thermal stability, make it an ideal material for producing foundry sands and refractory bricks used to line high-temperature industrial furnaces.

Typical Product Specifications

Although we customise specifications for individual clients, our standard high-grade concentrate generally meets the following values:

  • Chrome Oxide (Cr₂O₃): 40–42%

  • Chromium-to-Iron Ratio (Cr:Fe): 1.5:1 – 2.0:1

  • Silica (SiO₂): <1.5%

  • Moisture Content: Typically 2–4% (adjustable to client needs)

  • Sizing: Available in multiple fractions, including lumpy, chip, and fines

Operational Excellence

The Journey from Ore to Concentrate

Our product quality stems directly from the strength of our operations. We transform raw ore into a uniform, high-grade concentrate through a controlled and highly efficient process. Our modern chrome washing plants in Burgersfort, Kroondal, and Mooinooi run on advanced engineering, environmental stewardship, and strict quality controls.

Stage 1

Ethical Extraction and Strategic Sourcing

Our journey begins with responsible, locally focused sourcing. We partner with reputable, ethically vetted mining suppliers located close to our processing facilities. This approach lowers transportation costs, reduces carbon emissions, and strengthens regional economies.

Every load entering our plants undergoes strict run-of-mine sampling and analysis. Our team approves only material that meets our quality requirements, ensuring a strong starting point for beneficiation.

Stage 2

Dewatering, Stockpiles & Stewardship

We dewater the chrome concentrate slurry through advanced filtration systems until it reaches the precise moisture level our clients specify. Conveyors then transport the final product to clearly identified stockpiles for quality assurance testing and dispatch preparation.

At the same time, we manage tailings responsibly. Our team dewaters the waste material and transfers it to engineered, lined storage facilities designed to protect the surrounding environment.

Stage 3

Advanced Washing and Concentration

Our beneficiation process aims to maximise chrome recovery while conserving energy and water resources.

Primary and Secondary Crushing and Screening

We feed raw ore into primary and secondary crushing circuits to liberate the chrome minerals. High-frequency screens then separate the ore into size fractions, ensuring efficient performance during the next stage.

Gravity Separation

We mix the screened ore with water to create a precise-density slurry, then pump it to banks of advanced spiral concentrators. These spirals separate heavy chrome particles from lighter gangue using gravity and fluid dynamics—without any chemical additives.
